Values
CHRIST: Character, Humility, Respect,
Integrity, Service, Testimony
Philosophy of Education:
We believe God
has entrusted children to parents, who in turn make choices
about the education those children receive. Therefore, we
understand our proper role as Christian school educators to
be one of support for the homes and churches those children
come from, and that as such, we:
• can help parents in
the training of the children, but can not replace them;
• need to partner with parents who are actively involved in
the life of the school, their church, and their children;
• need to design a curriculum and create an environment
which will help students to become more Godly as they seek
to increase in knowledge, understanding and wisdom;
• need to respect all students as part of God's creation,
regardless of race, gender, or ethnic origin;
• need to use the Bible as our primary source for all
courses, policies, and procedures;
• must strive to be Godly role-models;
• must never underestimate the capability of a student;
• must have servant hearts;
• must work to discern the learning style of all our
students, and use methods which enable all students to
learn;
• recognize the value of hands-on, practical applications of
the material taught;
• need to keep focused on the mission and vision of the
school;
• need to keep current with the latest research in
education, and thus model lifelong learning;
• will set high standards for academics, behavior, and
spiritual growth, and will provide the necessary support to
reach those standards;
• are accountable to the families and churches we serve;
• are organized in such a way that parents and teachers are
a part of the decision making process;
• need to be organized in such a way that a safe and
nurturing environment is maintained
GOD:
Goals Of
Discipleship:
The Bible tells us at the end of Luke 2 that Jesus matured
in all areas of His life as He grew older. We desire to help
our students do the same.
ACADEMIC
Students will:
• Be effective oral and
written communicators;
• Demonstrate an appreciation and knowledge of our literary,
historical and biblical heritage;
• Be able to apply problem solving knowledge to real life
situations by using technology and analyzing, interpreting,
and evaluating significant concepts within various contexts.
PHYSICAL
Students will be:
• Trained to recognize
that their bodies are wonderfully and fearfully made by God,
and that He desires us to be fit, healthy, and holy.
SOCIAL
Students will be
trained to:
• Respect authority,
God, peers, community, and self;
• Work cooperatively in group situations;
• Contribute their God-given gifts and talents to the
church, their family, the school and their community
SPIRITUAL
Students will:
• Know and understand
the plan of salvation, and be able to effectively
communicate it;
• Be able to logically and respectfully defend their faith
Mission/Vision Statement:
VISION: That
a child should come to know Jesus Christ in his or her
youth, obey His Word, with the ability to function
competently as a Christian in a world of competing ideas.
MISSION:
To equip children with a biblical and intellectual
foundation through examining all subject areas and life
issues from a biblical worldview.
Statement of Faith:
We Believe:
• In One God, the
Creator and Sustainer of the universe, eternally existent in
three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• In the divine inspiration, infallibility and final
authority of the Bible as the Word of God.
• In the uniqueness of man, by virtue of his special
creation in God's image and his responsibility to understand
and master the world to the glory of God.
• In the unique deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the
incarnate, Virgin-born Son of God.
• In the representative and substitutionary death of our
Lord Jesus Christ as the necessary atonement for our sins.
• In the power of the Holy Spirit in the work of
regeneration, and His continuing work in the heart of the
believer.
• In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord and
that blessed hope, His personal return.
• In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the
everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting
punishment of the lost.
• In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus
Christ.
• In the heterosexual marriage relationship as the only
God-ordained family system. |
